Futura Seoul is seeking an Assistant Curator / Curator to join our team.
Located in Bukchon, Futura Seoul is a contemporary art space that introduces forward-looking artistic practices grounded in the historic fabric of the neighborhood. We collaborate with both Korean and international artists and organize experimental exhibitions and programs.
We welcome applicants with strong capabilities not only in curatorial planning and operations, but also in the wide-ranging practical tasks essential to running a contemporary art institution.


Position

  • Assistant Curator / Curator
    (Final title to be determined based on experience)


Responsibilities

  • Exhibition planning, production, and operations with a hands-on approach

  • Communication and coordination with artists and institutions in Korea and abroad

  • Artist research and development of curatorial/PR texts

  • Planning and execution of exhibition-related programs and events

  • Supporting a wide range of institutional tasks at Futura Seoul (PR support, management of official channels, communication with partner vendors, exhibition archiving and documentation, etc.)


Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in museums, art spaces, galleries, or related institutions (*required)

  • Strong English communication skills, including written correspondence and business-level email drafting (*required)

  • Eligibility for international travel (*required)

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in art, art history, aesthetics, or related fields

  • Understanding of domestic and international art ecosystems, with relevant networks preferred


Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical experience in exhibition planning, production, operations, or PR

  • Experience collaborating with overseas institutions and artists
    (e.g., artist invitations, institutional partnerships)

  • Proficiency in design/editing tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in MS Office or Hancom Office

  • Strong understanding of media art, installation art, and spatial or immersive exhibition formats


Working Conditions

  • Employment Type: Contract (1-year contract with the possibility of full-time conversion based on performance)

  • Salary: Negotiable based on experience and portfolio

  • Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00–18:00 (including 1-hour lunch break; flexible hours during exhibition installs or events) ※ Weekend availability is required
