FUTURA SEOUL Night on Earth x Yasmina Reza's <ART> ㅣ May 4, 2026
Yasmina Reza’s landmark play ART, winner of the Molière Award and the Tony Award, has been translated into 15 languages and performed in 35 countries.
At Futura Seoul’s Night on Earth, we present one of contemporary theatre’s sharpest and most witty dark comedies.
What begins as a minor crack over a single white painting unsettles the grain of a long-standing friendship, slowly drawing to the surface the emotions each has chosen not to face.
Experience ART at Futura Seoul, a work that incisively illuminates differences in taste surrounding art, the discomfort born of incomprehension, and the very nature of human relationships.
Synopsis
IT'S NOT WHITE!
“You didn’t seriously pay 500 million won for this ‘slab,’ did you?”
“I’d really like to know what on earth made you call it a ‘slab.’”
“What is wrong with you both? The way you’re acting is absurd.”
Three friends who have sustained a close friendship over many years: Serge, Marc, and Yvan.
One day, Serge purchases a painting.
A white canvas, roughly 150 by 120 centimeters. A white painting with fine white lines falling across a white ground.
Because of this single painting, the three friends begin to unleash feelings they have harbored toward one another over the years, and the situation gradually spirals toward an extreme.
