Lee Hee Moon
Lee Hee Moon is an innovative vocalist who moves fluidly between tradition and modernity. A graduate of the Department of Korean Traditional Music at Seoul National University, he is grounded in pansori while presenting contemporary sensibilities and experimental music, pioneering new genres. Through projects such as “Lee Hee Moon Project” and “Lee Hee Moon Company,” he has introduced works that fuse pansori with contemporary music. He has also been involved in a wide range of activities, including work on the soundtrack for Squid Game and serving as artistic director for madangnori productions at the National Theater of Korea. In recognition of his contribution to the modernization of traditional arts, he received the “Young Artist Award” from the Arts Council Korea.
