Anthony McCall will participate in Anthony McCall: Sculpting Light, presented jointly by IRCAM and Centre Pompidou in Paris, France, opening on 4 June 2026.
The project is presented as part of ManiFeste Festival 2026, IRCAM’s international festival dedicated to music and contemporary creation. The exhibition features several of McCall’s major Solid Light works, including Breath (2004), Breath (III) (2005), You and I (II) (2010), and Skirt (I) (2010). Through this presentation, Centre Pompidou highlights the artist’s longstanding exploration of light as both material and space, creating an immersive environment in which viewers’ movement and bodily presence become integral elements of the work.
In 2025, Futura Seoul introduced Anthony McCall’s practice to Korean audiences through Anthony McCall: Works 1972–2020. The exhibition featured key works including Breath III (2005), Between You and I (2006), and Skylight (2020). In Anthony McCall: Sculpting Light, audiences will once again encounter works from the artist’s Breath and You and I series.
During the presentation of Anthony McCall: Works 1972–2020, Futura Seoul presented Dissolve into Light as part of its Night on Earth program. The event included the release of the album of the same title, alongside an improvised performance by pianist Ahn Kwanghyun and saxophonist Son Seongje.
Similarly, ManiFeste Festival 2026 is structured around a dialogue between Anthony McCall’s work and contemporary music, bringing these two artistic forms into conversation.
