FUTURA SEOUL is a contemporary art space that introduces forward-looking artistic practices within the historical context of Bukchon, Seoul. We collaborate with artists from Korea and abroad and present experimental exhibitions that explore new curatorial possibilities.

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the positions of Assistant Curator and Exhibition Coordinator. This recruitment aims to engage professionals with strong practical experience not only in exhibition planning and operations, but also across the broader scope of institutional work within an art space. Overview

Responsibilities

  • Assist in exhibition planning and operations (research, schedule management, production coordination, on-site management, etc.)

  • Communication with domestic and international artists and institutions

  • Exhibition publicity and external collaborations

  • Planning and management of public programs and related events

  • Support for overall institutional operations (PR, management of official channels, coordination with partners and vendors, exhibition archiving and documentation, etc.)


Qualifications (Required)

  • Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in exhibition planning, operations, and/or publicity

  • Proficiency in written and verbal business communication in English

  • Eligibility for international travel


Preferred Qualifications

  • Major in Fine Arts, Art History, or related fields

  • Understanding of and network within the domestic and international art scene

  • Experience in PR and collaborative projects within the cultural and arts sector

  • Experience in media art exhibitions

  • Experience collaborating with international institutions and artists (e.g., artist invitations, institutional partnerships)

  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator)

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office and Hangul (Hancom Office)

  • Strong understanding of spatially driven exhibitions such as media art and installation art

  • Immediate availability

  • Residency near the workplace


Employment Conditions

  • Employment Type: One-year contract (with the possibility of full-time conversion upon evaluation)

  • Salary: To be negotiated based on experience and portfolio

  • Working Hours: Five days per week / 9:00–18:00 (including one-hour lunch break; flexible hours during exhibition periods and events)

  • Location: FUTURA SEOUL, 61 Bukchon-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul
